WOW, we rolled into this truckstop lastnight after 9 hours of detours for closed and flooded roads. There was strangely enough, plenty of parking! I walked in because they require a parking pass. Parking? $22.50!! You can avoid that fee if you spend that money in the store... Most places that charge for parking, even in Atlanta and Chicago, only charge $10-15!!
Want a shower? That will cost you $10.80 PLUS a $20 deposit!! Seriously? Again, showers are only $5-$11 everywhere else with no deposit!
Coffee? 20oz was $2.35+tax!! They even had signs on the coffee pot telling customers to look at the prices BEFORE they pour......so I did and I saw 5 big poster boards with prices listed AND pretty much a "chew out" sign informing me that if I think coffee was too high or the other store prices was too much "to go elsewhere"..... How RUDE!
So, I spent the night, and will never go to this location again.
The kid cashier inside was nice, but the TV room, a few old cafeteria chairs, TV had virtually no signal at all. I did have a chicken fried steak for dinner, not too bad, but nothing great. I was the only customer in there the whole time I was eating....Total waste of a truckstop for sure........
...and that is the reason there were so many parking spots here lastnight! haha

I think most everything in New York is expensive. You didn't say how much you paid for your dinner.
Yeah, I always 'love' seeing "chew out" signs already up for customers as soon as they walk in.
It might as well say:
"This establishment run by idiots"
The dinner really did not cost too much...$15 I think total...
and no, I dont really like being yelled at by a few poster boards either. lol
Never seen anything like it before. Perhaps all the folks complaining followed by very few truckers coming back should be a CLUE??? to change something (like your prices, service), not yell at them via posters. LOL
It's funny, some establishments think that they are doing a favor to their customers. That explains where customer service has gone in this country. Raise the price of cheap coffee to a ridiculous amount, then pre-empt any questioning of the high price by putting up completely impersonal "chew out" signs?
Yeah..... that'll get your customers to want to come back... NOT!!!
Thanks for the tip, I'll never spend one dime at that place.
