This is one of only two truckstops I know about in Dodge City, Kansas. There are two major beef companies just down the street, so this place is ALWAYS full of trucks and drivers waiting for their loads from the beef packers.....
Everytime I have ever come here, it has been a horrible place to do business. Tonight for example, 940PM, there was a line of 12 customers. Three cashiers, one manager in a blue shirt (a kid basically) and one manager in a white shirt walking around. The white shirt manager looked at the line and walked right past just like he had no interest. Several customers asked why they could not open another cash register, and the reply was "Corporate rules allow us only one cash register after 10PM" Ok, but it was NOT 10pm yet.....
Everytime I have gone in this store, it is the same thing. Long lines, hardly anybody helping the customers!!
Coffee? Well, this store has a problem with that as well. This afternoon, and tonight, no sweet and low. No creamer. Coffee just about bone dry. To get a single 20OZ cup full, I had to use three different types of coffee blends! There is always trash on the floors of this store, just generally a poorly run store with customer service lacking as far as I can remember coming here.
This store has the potential to really rake in the cash if they just cared about the business they have from all the truckers waiting for their loads from the beef packing plants. Open your eyes Flying J! This store definitely is not one of your better run locations. Not just this visit, but every visit I have personally been here......
If any readers care to notify Flying J about this post, go ahead. I am usually busy trucking when the customer service representatives are open...LOL

I tracked down their webiste and passed along the info about conditions at the Dodge City, Kansas location. Will see if it helps next time through.
everytime I stop in at flying J, there is fresh coffee, the coffee area is stocked and the cashiers and managers greet me with a smile.
