Decent parking here, but very small fuel islands. As with other Houston truckstops, if you do not get here by 5PM to claim your parking spot, you will be hard pressed to find one.
Good, friendly cashiers, coffee fresh, creamers all in order:)
Only real bother to this place is the number of people who knock on my door begging for money with the same stories....:"My wife and I and my little boy/girl....are stranded on the highway right at the corner..."
Funny thing is, I NEVER see anybody else except the guy telling me the story. The same story no matter what truckstop I happen to be at, or what day it is. It is always funny the panhandlers are always "just $5.00 short" of getting a bus ticket "home".....

Wow, what a coincidence! A guy was "stranded" with that same story at the Louisiana Welcome Center. We saw him twice on 4-5 month-apart trips thru. Either a very long strand or a lie, hummmm...wonder which one...
We notice the "will work for food" cardboards have fallen out of popularity...word has got around that some guys offer work..! gasp!
A truly helpful & kind word to give them is this:
Go to the Salvation Army, they'll feed you, counsel you, help you off the booze & drugs, & help you be an honorable citizen. Now that's a deal. We drop our extra 5 dollar bills over there for that reason.
